Dear Visitor,
This is the website of Anikó Szalai, Dr., a senior lecturer at the University of Szeged, Faculty of Law.
I defended my PhD thesis in the topic of “The effect of armed conflicts on international treaties” in 2012. Besides Public International Law I teach a wide range of topics related to it, such as human rights, international organizations, Model UN and the theory of international relations.
After the PhD I dedicated my research focus to minority rights, especially to the protection of the Roma minority under international and European law. My findings have recently been published in a book, and the research received the National Excellence Award, the Géza Herczegh Memorial Certificate and the Best Monograph Prize of the University of Szeged Faculty of Law.
I’m a regular speaker at the Human Rights Summer University of the Europa-Universitaet Viadrina (Frankfurt Oder, Germany), and a founder and organizer of the Regional Academy on the United Nations. I’m a governing board member of the United Nations Association of Hungary (H-UNA), a member of the Academic Council on the United Nations’ System (ACUNS), of the Hungarian branch of the International Law Association (ILA) and of the Public Body of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
The aim of this blog and website is to spread knowledge about international law, which invisibly influences our everyday life. Although this website is in Hungarian, I hope you can find similar blogs and websites in your own language, if your interested. 🙂 Also if you’re interested in my work, contact me via e-mail: szalaianiko@juris.u-szeged.hu
My full list of publications can be found here.
You can access my papers on the Social Science Research Network (SSRN) and at Academia.edu.
Best wishes,
Anikó Szalai
